This kitchen knife was forged from high carbon tungsten steel (1.2442), smelted to high specification for the cutlery industry by a small producer in Germany, laminated by the process of forge welding in a traditional smith's hearth with historic wrought iron to form a two layer laminate (nimai), single bevel blade suitable for RIGHT HANDED users (sorry for the caps, but it's quite important!).
The hexagonal handle is carved from semi fossilised oak that collapsed into the anglia Fens some 5000 years ago when water levels rose and swamped Eastern England.
