This knife is based on a traditional fishmonger's knife. It's intended purpose is for sectioning fish, but it can of course be used to cut other food stuff, but unlike some fishmongers' knives, it is unsuitable for use with a maul or mallet and it is not a cleaver! The blade was forged from a solid bar of high carbon Austrian silver steel, the hexagonal handle is carved from semi fossilised oak that collapsed into the Anglian Fens some 5000 years ago when water levels rose and swamped Eastern England.
