The blade of this gyuto was forged from a bar of chromium tungsten high carbon steel (1.2519), and has a lot of distal taper. The octagonal handle is made from 3000 year old Anglian bog oak. This knife has quite a beefy blade, giving a "forward" balance very suited to pinch grip.
