This general purpose kitchen knife was formed by forging together a three layer billet; high carbon W2 steel for the cutting edge, with gnarly historic (19th century?) puddled iron either side. The handle is made from English bog oak, pickled in the swamps of Anglia for five thousand years before being dug up by slape haired fenfolk and dragged away across the wastes on sledges made from whale bones.
This knife combines a high degree of functionality, combined with heaps of character. Due to the natural, untreated nature of the high carbon steel, the gnarly iron and the handle material, this knife will patinate and change over time. If left wet, dirty and/or disused, it may become tarnished or rusty. I make these knives to be used and loved. Please see the care and guarantee section of my website before purchase.
