This general purpose kitchen knife was forged from a three layer billet; a layer of high carbon W2 steel folded between two layers of 19th century wrought iron. The wiggly lines in the iron are layers of silaceous inclusions; impurities from the now obsolete iron puddling process. Yes, that’s not a typo; “puddling”. Not the name I would have chosen. The handle is in walnut. Both handle and blade have heaps of character, as well as a high degree of functionality. The balance point and taper are shown in the photos (last two photos).
Please read the care and guarantee section before purchase. Both blade and handle are made from untreated natural materials that will patinate and age over time, but with a bit of care will last a lifetime.

Specifications as follows:
Blade length; ca. 170mm
Blade heel height; ca. 46mm
Handle length including bolster; ca. 125mm
